Eurostar and SkyTeam Partner for Plane-to-Train Travel Across Europe by 2025

Starting in 2025, travelers in Europe will enjoy smoother journeys with a new partnership between Eurostar and SkyTeam. This collaboration will allow passengers to book plane and train travel in one reservation.

The deal was formalized after Eurostar, a high-speed rail service, signed a memorandum of understanding with SkyTeam. SkyTeam represents major airlines, including Air France, Delta Air Lines, and SAS. With this move, Eurostar aims to make travel across Europe more sustainable and convenient.

Eurostar’s CEO, Gwendoline Cazenave, emphasized that this partnership aligns with the company’s goal of offering eco-friendly travel. It will make connecting between Eurostar trains and long-haul flights more efficient, opening their services to more global markets.

This agreement is not the first of its kind. Eurostar already has a similar arrangement with KLM, which has reduced short-haul flights between Amsterdam and Brussels. Under that deal, passengers’ journeys automatically include rail travel between the two cities. This setup has led to fewer flights, making air travel more sustainable.

SkyTeam’s CEO, Patrick Roux, said the collaboration with Eurostar highlights SkyTeam’s commitment to responsible travel. The air-to-rail option is expected to launch in the first half of 2025, giving passengers more eco-conscious travel options across Europe.

With Eurostar's extensive network covering 28 destinations across Germany, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, and the UK, this partnership offers a greener way to explore Europe. Travelers will soon have a more integrated and sustainable way to travel across the continent, starting with SkyTeam’s hubs in Amsterdam, Paris, and London.
