Monkey Island

The chimpanzees that are found in Monkey Island were the subject of the New York lab’s hepatitis research for 30 years. The hepatitis research ended in 2005, and the chimpanzees were freed on the islands composing the Monkey Island.

Lake Piso

Lake Piso (Lake Pisu), also known as the Fisherman's Lake, is the largest lake in Liberia. The lake gained international interest due to the richness of its biodiversity and natural beauty. Aside from that, the lake has an open connection to the Atlantic Ocean. A lot of islands can be found on the lake, and some of those islands serve as temporary shelters for some locals in Liberia during the Liberian Civil War.
